Cindy Miller Atchison
Nature, with its boundless inspiration, nurtures my appreciation for how art can move effortlessly beyond the practical into the philosophical. Life itself may be ephemeral, but capturing these fleeting encounters on canvas and pairing them with the day's emotions is wildly satisfying.
My exploration of contrasts between graphic, hard-edged brush strokes and the softness of a cloudscape or breathtaking southwestern scene captures the essence of the delicious contrasts in our lives—like the warmth of a cup of coffee on a cold morning, the refreshing coolness of a brisk swim on a sweltering afternoon, or the golden opportunities that arise after a period of difficulty. These contrasts, like the ones in my paintings, add depth and richness to our experiences.
I feel immensely blessed for the opportunity to explore and develop my artistic style in my studio. Albeit small, my studio at The ArtRoom Collective at the Smiley Building lives large in its opportunity to express beauty and celebrate nature.
